Buy and sell
Every trade on Pair is one Solana transaction paid and received in SOL, on every kind of pair.
Traders never need a wallet or funds on another chain. A buy sends SOL and receives the coin. A sell sends the coin and receives SOL. Both happen in one Solana transaction, so a trade either completes in full or does not happen.
On a native pair
The coin trades straight against its pair coin in a Solana pool. If the pair coin is SOL, a buy pays SOL into the pool. If the pair coin is another Solana coin, for example BONK, the route swaps SOL to BONK and BONK to your coin in the same transaction.
On a cross-chain pair
The SOL goes into the coin's own reserve, and the pair side is valued at the pair coin's signed price from its home chain. The coin comes out of the pool at the pool's price in pair-coin terms. How a cross-chain pair works follows this step by step.
What moves your coin's price
| Pair type | Your coin's SOL price moves when |
|---|---|
| Native pair with SOL | People buy or sell your coin |
| Native pair with a Solana coin | People buy or sell your coin, or the pair coin moves against SOL |
| Cross-chain pair | People buy or sell your coin, or the pair coin moves on its home chain |
A worked example: your coin is paired with PEPE. Buyers push your coin up 100% in PEPE terms while PEPE falls 50% against SOL. In SOL, your coin is back where it started.
Wallets
Any Solana wallet that signs standard transactions works. The site connects to Phantom, Solflare and Backpack from the Connect button.
