The coin reserve
Each cross-chain coin has its own SOL reserve that receives buys and pays sells. How it grows, what it covers and what protects it.
Every coin on a cross-chain pair has its own reserve of SOL, held by the Pair program. Buys pay into it and sells are paid from it. Reserves are separate: one coin's reserve never pays another coin's sellers.
What goes in and out
| In | Out |
|---|---|
| SOL from every buy, after fees | SOL to every seller, at the pair coin's live price |
| The 1.5% pair fee from every trade on that coin |
How the pair coin's price affects it
The reserve holds SOL, while the pool owes sellers the SOL value of its PEPE units. When PEPE falls against SOL, the pool owes less than the reserve holds and the difference stays in the reserve. When PEPE rises, the pool owes more, and the reserve pays it from what earlier falls and the pair fee added.
An example with 100 SOL of buys and PEPE at 0.000005 SOL:
| PEPE moves | The pool's PEPE units are worth | The reserve holds | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flat | 100 SOL | 100 SOL plus fees | Covered |
| Down 30% | 70 SOL | 100 SOL plus fees | 30 SOL stays in the reserve |
| Up 30% | 130 SOL | 100 SOL plus fees | Paid from fees and earlier surplus |
Coverage
The program tracks each reserve's coverage: how far the pair coin could rise before the reserve could no longer pay every unit at once. Buys into a pair are accepted only while coverage stays above the limit. When it falls below, buys into that pair pause and sells keep working, so holders can always exit.
Withdrawals
All reserve SOL stays on Solana in the Pair program. Nothing is sent to other chains or other venues, so a sell is paid in the same transaction, whatever its size up to the reserve.
