FAQ

Short answers to the questions people ask most about Pair.

Do I need a wallet on another chain?

No. Every buy and sell is on Solana, paid and received in SOL, whatever the pair.

Do I own PEPE when I buy a coin paired with PEPE?

You own the coin you bought. Its price follows PEPE's price on Ethereum through the pair, the same way a coin paired with PEPE on Ethereum would.

Is anything bridged or wrapped?

No. The only link to the other chain is the signed price that every cross-chain trade carries.

Why is the cross-chain fee higher?

The extra 1.5% goes into the coin's own reserve, which pays sellers when the pair coin rises. See Fees.

Can I pair with any coin?

Any Solana coin for a native pair. For a cross-chain pair, the top 200 coins of each chain by market cap, plus coins you find by searching. See Pairable coins.

Where do the prices on the site come from?

CoinGecko, refreshed every 10 minutes. Trades on cross-chain pairs use signed oracle prices, checked on Solana in the same transaction. See Prices and freshness.

What happens if the price feed stops?

Trades on that pair fail until a fresh signed price is available. Nothing moves at an old price.

Can a coin's pair change after launch?

No. The pair is set when the coin launches.

When can I launch?

When the Pair program is deployed on Solana. What's live shows the current state.
